In a privileged high society sphere, in an American setting. How many characters are there in the entire game? Maybe 20? I'm sure about 1/4 are white. A glorious melting pot of colors, genders and sexualities. No, you have the gay, the gay black, the trans, the lesbian, the indian scientist, the african scientist, the asian scientist. There just couldn't happen to be some black guy on the team. Yet, he (or likely she) felt obliged to carely select every single possible combination of these things and shove them into the game. You claim that sexuality and race doesn't matter, and so does the writer. Which brings us to your second point, the "forced" term. It just makes they look cool and open minded. It's not an idea people defend or care about. I am deeply convinced that the writer simply thought putting every sexuality and race in their game was "cool". No, it is not "propaganda", as in not made to incite people to embrace their ideas. The SJW stuff was extremely cringey, but it was just a bad moment to endure. I of course finished the game, and it was amazing. Sadly, the sarcasm at the end with the "progressive paradise" kinda ruined it. I'm a bit disappointed, at first I was surprised to see an actual answer in this nice thinely veiled troll post. I find myself genuinely curious, so I hope this doesn't come across as an attack/accusation: Is there an example of a scene that was forced, and how it might have been handled in a less forced manner? If the thing can be seen as forced, I'd like to have a better eye to be able to see it.Ĭdh eredeti hozzászólása:I have a couple of question for OP and other people who strongly object to the game's portrayal of interracial gay marriage, minority trans people, gay robots, progressive paradises, etc. Again I think I'm having trouble seeing it because of my progressive paradise background. Someone might have implicitly claimed earlier that these "progressive" characters/relationships would be ok if they weren't so "forced". Do you agree with that? Because I live in one of those progressive paradises you refer to, maybe I'm having trouble seeing aspects of the plot that are saliently progressive. Second, I claimed earlier that the plot and dialogue of the game doesn't feature any "SJW stuff" to the extent that the game is progressive or politically correct or whatever, I thought, it's mostly by virtue of background facts of who the characters are. For example, what if there was a trans character but not those other characters/relationships or what if there was an interracial gay marriage but not those other characters/relationships? Is the game's failing for you that it has too many of these things together in one experience? Or maybe even any one of those things is objectionable, because it helps normalize things/relationships/identities/behaviors that shouldn't be normalized? (I'm not sure.) What I'm curious about is whether having any gay/trans/interracial/progressive stuff at all gives rises to this objection, or whether there is some threshold below which it's not a problem. And while you didn't say this, perhaps some people might even see the game as first and foremost a case of SJW propaganda. I find myself genuinely curious, so I hope this doesn't come across as an attack/accusation:įirst, I understand that you find these gay/trans/interracial/"progressive" things over the top in this game, to the point where they ruin the experience for you. I have a couple of question for OP and other people who strongly object to the game's portrayal of interracial gay marriage, minority trans people, gay robots, progressive paradises, etc. The only thing that was uncommon was the female police officer being transgender, something you could argue was forced, but it would be equally forced to not include her just because it's not common today, though no doubt even more common a century from now. The problem perhaps is that you're going out of your way to notice a homosexual relationship, which is regular, let alone one between two different races, which is something that shocked perhaps a century ago. It's a shame that when you look at people you see their skin pigmentation, and whatever else. I date black girls too, and I still think this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and forced. Kind of like the first episode of Fear the Walking Dead where every sort of relationship that isn't quite mainstream is forced to show how progressive they are. How is it forced? There are a lot of black people and white people out there, let alone in a century's time.
